SUPPORT GROUP FOR TEEN'S WHO LOST A PARENT OR GUARDIAN FROM SUICIDE OR DRUG USE

JULY 10 2022 - OCTOBER 23 2022

This support group will require guardian participation on some opposite weeks when the teens are not in their group. Guardians will learn techniques to help support the teens throughout their healing process while in the group. This will also help guardians understand how to help their grieving teen. The group is intended for the grieving teen to meet other teens who are experiencing grief so they can have others to relate to, to heal with and to develop healthy coping skills for their grieving process.

WHAT OUR THERAPY CLIENTS SAY

"If you are considering counseling services, please read this, because not long ago, I was doing just that and decided to go with 'A Pathway to Healing'. This ended up being one of the best decisions I've made in my entire life. I am a married man in my early thirties and I'll admit that I had reservations going in. My reservations had nothing to do with A Pathway to Healing, rather, they were my own internal hangups. I was of the mindset that I wasn't the 'type of person who needed therapy'-- whatever type that is-- Human? Imperfect? On top of that, I am a very private person, and the thought of sharing some of my innermost thoughts and feelings with anyone, let alone someone new, was borderline inconceivable to me. Nevertheless, my wife and I were having some marital difficulties and I found myself looking for a therapist. My wife was a bit more eager to get started, so we made a deal that as long as I agreed to go, I could pick where. After many hours (spread across weeks) of research, I ended up deciding on A Pathway to Healing. From my initial phone call, my fears and hangups began to dissipate. Bernadette was warm, kind, and accommodating. About a week later, my wife and I went in for our first session and I wasn't entirely sure what to expect, to be honest, but I had resolved to go there with an open mind and let the experts lead the way. I have to say, doing that was a lot easier than I expected it would be. Bernadette had clearly put a lot of time and effort into every aspect of her practice. Everything from the staff to the decor felt welcoming, comforting, and accepting. It immediately felt like a safe place. Early on, Bernadette helped us to discover that my wife and I each had separate challenges that we needed to overcome in order to strengthen our marriage. Since then, we have had fairly regular sessions, both individually and as a couple and I can say, without a shred of doubt, that our marriage is the strongest it has ever been! The whole team at A Pathway to Healing is incredible! Bernadette, in particular, is such an amazing person and therapist. Just the fact that I was able to open up to her and confide in her the way that I did, to me, speaks to her ability to really meet people where they are at and connect with them. She has guided me through some of my most challenging times and helped me reach a level of personal and emotional growth that I didn't even know was possible for me. I highly recommend 'A Pathway to Healing' to anyone considering counseling services, especially if you are hesitant, ambivalent, or uncertain of what to expect; you won't be disappointed."
